		Welcome to Chateau Lasgoity Winery Chateau Lasgoity is a small winery located in Madera County producing premium quality wines. John Lasgoity and Michele Lasgoity, brother and sister, own and operate the winery. Nestled amongst old, gnarled vines, the winery is located on the vineyard property their great-grandparents bought in 1903 and across from their home they buit in 1906. Winemaking has been in the Lasgoity Family for generations, starting first with great-grandfather, John Ospital, carrying through to grandfather, Jean Lasgoity, who made wine for the family and their sheepherders. The tradition continues today with Chateau Lasgoity. Chateau Lasgoity’s inaugural crush was in the Fall of 2000. For the first crush, they produced a delicious white wine, Blanc du Val (which means White of the Valley), a Merlot and a Syrah. All of these grapes produced for the wines were produced in Madera County with the vast majority of the fruit originating from the Lasgoity Family Ranches. The following fall, Chateau Lasgoity crushed the same three varietals plus added a Zin Rosé. The 2000 Blanc du Val has received two medals: a bronze medal in the 19th Annual West Coast Wine Competition and a silver medal in the 2002 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. The recently released 2001 Blanc du Val received a GOLD MEDAL in the 20th Annual West Coast Wine Competition held in Santa Rosa. Tasting Room Chateau Lasgoity offers wine tastings, tours of the facility and a venue for your next private party or business event. The wine tasting room, opened in the Fall of 2001, features the abstract art of local artists Robert Ogata and Michael Garcia and a gently curving tasting bar for the visitors’ enjoyment. Just outside the wine tasting room, there is a patio/picnic area underneath an arbor that makes a perfect place to enjoy Chateau Lasgoity wine and view the vineyards.
